EDITORIAL

I believe we are entering another Golden Age for the field of Artificial Intelligence. Data Mining has become a core aspect of Customer Relationship Management, Agents are essential for many web site applications from bots to negotiations, CBR is providing personalisation services for mobile phone, Model Based Systems are demonstrating powerful diagnostic capabilities for automobiles, and autonomous robotic appliances are on sale. To name just a few of the leading edge application work from the field of Artificial Intelligence. Now is a great time to be active in
the field of AI and to come and see what is happening in the field as a whole. So I hope to see you at ECAI-04 for a look at the broad activities in this new Golden Age of Artificial Intelligence.
